Due to our constant urge to upgrade our events, St. Patrick's A.C. are in for some interesting changes in the coming months.
We pride ourselves in being the only athletics club in Malta in organising THREE road-races through the calendar. One of the most anticipated races is the one held on Friday evening, at B'Buga in the July.
We have received various comments that since it is an 'evening' race it was not as convenient for athletes and a 'morning' one. Moreover, the route was increasingly becoming dangerous to the heavy traffic in B'Buga on Friday evening.
Therefore, we looked into the possibility of changing both the schedule and the route to offer all of you a better event and a safer and more enjoyable one.
Thus it has been decided that the 'summer' race by St. Patrick's A.C. will be held on SUNDAY 4th JULY AT MARSASCALA, starting at 8am. The race will go by the official name of 47-SUMMER NIGHTS MARSASCALA 10K.
The start will be in front of the church, heading towards the 47 Summer
Nights Restaurant, passing att the coast raod up towards the ex Jerma
Hotel and proceeding downwards towards St Thomas Bay. From here you will
head uphill towards Zejtun, then crossing over downhill again and
turning with the St. Antnin Recycling Plant in the direction of Inspire.
The last segment of the race will be heading towards Zonqor point,
encircling the old National Swimming Pool and back to the main road,
finishing just in front of 47-Summer Nights Restaurant.
We are confident that this route will immediately become very popular!
